Pancakes or oatmeal are usually breakfast go-tos for runners, but nothing beats the simplicity of a cold bowl of cereal. The just-launched Bowl O’ Brooks collection is for those who hotly debate pouring milk or cereal first, early risers driving to the trailhead with a box of cereal in the passenger’s seat, and your inner child straining to hear that magical sound of “snap,” “crackle,” and “pop.”

“The initial inspiration was sourced through childhood nostalgia,” said color and trend designer Noelle Webster at a Brooks NYC run and brunch event. She recalled munching on sugary cereal while watching Saturday morning cartoons. Webster occasionally has a bowl full of the highly-processed treat, but she’s up to more than watching weekend cartoons these days.

“That 6 a.m. Saturday long run is maybe a harder feat, but it’s a little bit more exciting when you’re head-to-toe in the ROYGBIV spectrum,” she said, nodding to the collection’s bright colors.
