In recent years, there has been a push for companies to become increasingly more sustainable, and though many have begun using more sustainable materials, decreasing their carbon footprint, and finding ways to give back to the environment, many have also started re-selling their own used items. Activewear brand Lululemon has recently jumped on the resale bandwagon with their “Like New” program. Like New allows you to sell your gently used Lulu products back to the company for credit, which you can then spend on the Like New site or the Lululemon site or in stores.
The products that are available on the Like New site have all been refreshed and refurbished by the Lululemon team, and are resold at a discounted price. One hundred percent of the profits from all Like New clothing items are then reinvested in the brand's sustainability initiatives, including circular product design, renew and recycle programs, and in-store environmental programs.
Since the Like New portion of the website is based on customers, the products are constantly changing, and you can even find items or colors that are no longer available.
If you wish to trade in your gear, you can take it to your local Lulu store, where they will decide if they wish to take the product. The items that they do not keep will be returned to you. Accepted items include shirts, shorts, skirts, for which sellers can receive a $5 credit; hoodies, sweatshirts, sweaters, pants, crops, leggings, dresses, and large bags, for which sellers can receive a $10 credit; and outerwear, for which sellers can receive a $25 credit.
